Six years ago, Clinton Giles started a photography diploma between night shifts on a road crew. Six years later he won first prize at the Peterborough Art Festival and sold his first print at his opening exhibition.
Southern Inspirations is a slow body of work. The jetties at Port Hughes, the mine ruins at Moonta, the still water at Tickera. Clinton shoots on a Canon 7D Mark II and a DJI Mini 4 Pro drone, edits every frame himself, and frames every piece by his own hand. The places most people drive past, and he waits on.
Every print is hand-finished in Adelaide by Atkins Photo Lab, the same lab the country's leading gallery photographers rely on. Every piece in this collection is 12 × 16″, mounted and framed by hand, and signed by Clinton.
